Doom Champions

July’s Arena of Doom was the biggest one yet with a total of 11 participants! A lot of newcomers and some old showed up to claim the Doom Champs throne, prize money and their shot at glory! But none were able to claim the throne for themselves and be invictus. Believe it or not this Arena of Doom had not 2 but 3 players tie with scores of 3/4 with one game being so interesting that it might showcase on one of my DABAMBOOZLEKING episodes. By Comp tiebreaks 1st Place went to James, 2nd Place to Aldar and 3rd Place to Dario. All 3 player shared the 1st and 2nd place prizes that totaled $90 getting $30 each. Honorable mention goes to David for falling asleep during the 1st round and losing and then getting a forced bye the 2nd round and almost climbing his way to the top with a score of 2.5/4! But like they say “if you snooze you lose”. Better luck next time David! Now only time will tell if these three Doom Champs will share the throne in harmony or will they turn against each other and take the throne for themselves in August!?… Or will an unknown force come and take it from them!?…Which will it be? Stay tuned… Oh and one more thing Aldar is making a statement with his purple lighting pic of himself! You better watch out David purple is now in fashion and not your blue! haha…

June’s Arena of Doom was the biggest one ever! With a total of 10 participants, 4 rounds and a total of $80 prize fund. The 10 Doomsters battled it out to see who would take 1st and 2nd place! Finally when the dust settled Devesh reigned supreme with a perfect score of 4/4 taking the $50 prize. Aldar came in 2nd place with 3/4 taking the $30 prize. Giving us two new Doom champs. Will these two Doomsters stay on top or will they ultimately fall to their Doom as previous winners have fallen!?…

2nd Place Champ Aldar

In Mays Arena of Doom there was only one champion with a score of 3/3 taking all the prize money for himself. His name is David! He dominated his opponents with his chess power to go undefeated in the chess halls of doom! Just look at him in his champ photo David has so much chess power that he is glowing as if he was someone not from this world! This is his first time being the one and only 1st place winner as he also shared the 1st place title with two others in April. Honorable mention goes to a new Doomster named Ruben for placing 2nd with 1.5/3. Now the question is will David be able to hold on to his throne of doom or will he be dethroned and have his magical glowing chess powers taken away by the ones he doomed in Junes Arena of Doom!?…

In the 3rd Arena of Doom there was a 3 way tie for 1st place with some familiar names keeping themselves at the top of the arena. These Doomsters are Aariv and Sofia, both scoring 2/3 but they better watch out because some new blood has come to the arena to do damage and strike fear into the hearts of his fellow chessters! His name is David which also scored 2/3. 1st place money prize was awarded to Aariv and David. Sofia was awarded 2nd place prize of a free entry to next month’s Arena of Doom due to tiebreaks. I would like to congratulate these three youngsters and give thanks to all of the participants. Now the only question is which of these three Doomsters will be able to rise to the challenge in May and send all others to their doom!? Or will their be a new Doomster in town!? Stay tuned or be doomed…

The second Arena of Doom Champion is Aariv. He defended his shared title from January and scored 3/3 retaining his title and winning the $ prize. Honorable mentions go to James, Devesh and Sofia for scoring 2/3. I would like to thank all the players for participating and helping the Doom Arena grow. Now the question is will Aariv be able to keep his title a 3rd time for March or will he be Doomed!?…
